How We Work

Initial Meeting

We will introduce ourselves and our advice process. Typically this takes 45-90 minutes:

  • For us - identifying how to add value to planning your financial goals.
  • For you - establishing your confidence in us as your advisers.

When both aims have been satisfied, we can proceed to review:

Your Situation, Objectives, Aims, and Constraints

We need to clearly understand your financial goals:

  • Income or growth - Or both? Over what timescale?
  • Your Attitude to Risk (generally and specifically for investments).
  • How your risk profile affects your objectives.
  • Your tax position, for income, capital and Inheritance taxes.

Discussing these points, raising relevant questions and noting your responses and reactions, starts the analysis process that helps us recommend appropriate solutions.

Next Steps

  • Until you have appointed us there is no fee or obligation. At the end of our initial meeting we confirm what you wish us to do and what fees are due or committed to then.
  • To act for clients we need a signed letter of engagement, Terms of Business, and a letter of authority. This enables us to contact providers to obtain full details of existing arrangements.
  • The three letters confirm our relationship with you as our client; to remove any ambiguity about our relationship.
  • Thereafter we are simply available to advise you, in line with our agreement with you.

Anti Money Laundering

Anti Money Laundering legislation requires us to keep file copies of evidence of our clients’ identity and address; this is normally your passport or driving licence and a recent utility bill in your name. For simplicity we take copies of relevant documents at the outset
